The American Cockatiel Society
was founded in 1977,
by a group of cockatiel
enthusiasts who felt the need for a club devoted to the cockatiel. The club that
started out as a very small group of "cockatiel people" has expanded over the
years to the largest International Cockatiel society.
The American Cockatiel
Society covers the
complete field of Cockatiels, from the
pet owner to the champion breeder, with our informative
magazine. Included in our our
ever evolving magazine are articles that cover the entire
interest of cockatiels ranging from interests in pet care,
breeding, showing, genetics and veterinary care.
Our panel of expert advisors, who are on staff to answer
questions from our members, are available to answer questions on
genetics, pet care, breeding and management. The American
Cockatiel Society Magazine also features articles on the genetic
expectation of mutations and cross mutations, hand feeding baby
birds, their care and diet, building and establishing a suitable
environment for a successful aviary, building nest boxes and
much more. Our web site offers a very small sampling of these
articles and features. If you'd like to know a little more
about our history, objectives and goals

As you page through our web site you will find a listing of our State
